This was taken about an hour after sunrise as the sun cleared the surrounding fells and started to light up the valley floor. Side Pike is a relatively easy viewpoint to reach as your car can do much of the ascent along a winding narrow road. You then have a ten-minute climb involving a small amount of rock-climbing. The resulting landscape view is well worth it.
